Breeders Crown champion Grace Hill took out the last mares’ Grand Circuit race of the season, the TVG Mares Open, in style at the Meadowlands on Saturday, comfortably downing star 3yo filly, and fellow daughter of Always B Miki, Niki Hill, and divisional leader Test Of Faith, in a new career best mark of 1:48.6.

Parked early, Grace Hill took control of the race by the quarter pole and kept the pace on throughout, kicking clear in the straight to win by one and a half lengths from Niki Hill who was taking on the older mares for the first time.

It was Grace Hill’s 19th career win and took her earnings to $1,250,630.

A $75,000 Lexington Select Yearling Sale purchase, Grace Hill is the best performed foal to date of the former Jugette winner Western Silk, a $1.7 million earning daughter of Western Terror.
