Father Patrick was the leading sire at yesterday’s New Zealand Bloodstock Sale of Trotters, with his yearlings averaging a stunning $53,500.

In addition to being leading sire by average, Father Patrick also produced both the overall sales topper at $120,000 and the equal highest priced filly at $50,000.

Offered by Dave and Dawn Kennedy’s Beaudiene Breeding, the sales topper was an outstanding colt out of the Sundon mare Rae Galleon.

The well related colt from the maternal family of New Zealand Trotter of the Year Stent and fellow multiple Group 1 winner (My) Arya was purchased by Diamond Racing.

Consigned by Studholme Bloodstock, the joint highest priced filly of the sale was a daughter of the Group 1 winner Superbowlcheerleader and went to the bid of Victoria’s Aldebaran Lodge.

Four of the top six highest priced lots were sired by Father Patrick, with a colt out of Quite A Moment making $80,000 and a colt out of Paramount Queen also selling for $50,000.

It was a highly successful sale for Nevele R’s other two trotting stallions that were represented by yearlings, Muscle Mass and Creatine.

Muscle Mass’s yearlings averaged more than six times his service fee at $36,500 and he sired the joint highest priced filly, with a filly out of Roydon’s Jewel, a full sister to Royal Aspirations, making $50,000.

Creatine too averaged almost six times his service fee at $23,250 with his second crop of yearlings to go through the ring.

Creatine’s top lot was the Best Presented Award winner at the Parade of Trotters, lot 153, a striking looking colt out of the family of a slew of Group 1 winners in Pocaro, Daenerys Targaryen, Sun Of Anarchy, Missandei and Mexicana.

He was purchased by the Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan Stables for $37,500.
