It was a Father Patrick sweep in the latest round of Pennsylvania Sires Stakes races for 3-year-old trotting fillies with Sister Sledge and Crucial victorious in the two divisions contested at The Meadows on 15 August (US time).

Sister Sledge bounced back from an uncharacteristic break in last weekend’s Hambletonian Final with a superb stakes record performance, leading throughout to score by two and a half lengths in a swift time of 1:52 flat.

Her winning time shaved 0.8 of a second off the previous stake record set last year by Millies Possession.

The Ron Burke trained filly has now won 12 of her 17 starts and banked $729,231 in stakes earnings.

Crucial, a last start fourth in the Hambletonian Oaks, got up in the last stride in her $93,191 division to just nab talented filly Next Level Stuff by a nose on the line in a career best 1:53.2.

The regally bred filly is the winner of six races and $271,577 in stakes-money to date.
