It was a clean sweep for Father Patrick in the Currier & Ives 3YO Trotting Fillies divisions at The Meadows with his daughters Crucial and Sister Sledge both winning their divisions in stakes record time.

The royally bred Crucial lived up to her bloodlines in the first of the divisions, taking control of the race by the half and dashing away to a four and a quarter length win in a new race record time of 1:53.8 on the five eighths of a mile track.

Out of the world champion Muscle Hill filly Jolene Jolene, Crucial is the winner of five races and almost $160,000 in stakes.

As good as Crucial was, last season’s Breeders Crown runner-up Sister Sledge was even better 15 minutes later, lowering the stakes record yet again and winning in a cakewalk.

Leading from start to finish, the top money earning 2-year-old filly of 2019 left her rivals to it at the top of straight, coasting to a five and a half length win in 1:53.4.

The daughter of the Andover Hall mare Behindclosedoors has now won 10 of her 14 starts and earned more than $630,000 in stakes-money.
