Father Patrick looks to have an exciting crop of two-year-old fillies in North America this season, with three of the five Pennsylvania All-Stars divisions won by his daughters at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on Tuesday (US time), including Sister Sledge in 1:53.8 – the fastest mile by a 2-year-old trotter this year.

The Ron Burke trained Sister Sledge was super impressive in her division, with the last start Pennsylvania Sire Stakes winner, duelling with the pace-making Ms Savannah Belle, after torrid early sectionals, through the entire third quarter before powering clear in the straight to win by four and a half lengths.

Sister Sledge’s winning time of 1:53.8 was almost a full second faster than the next best recorded by a 2-year-old trotter in 2019, and that was on a mile track, rather than the five-eighths of mile Pocono track.

Only two fillies went faster than Sister Sledge in the 2018 season and they were the Dan Patch 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year Woodside Charm and the multiple stakes race winner Whendovescry.

Out of the $500,000+ earning Andover Hall mare Behindclosedoors, Sister Sledge is undefeated in her two race day starts to date, not to mention in all five public appearances when qualifiers are included.

Father Patrick’s other divisional winners were the debutant Word Of Honor and Do You Wanna Dance, who was recording her second lifetime win.

The Julie Miller trained Word Of Honor is out of the Donato Hanover mare Honor Thy Daughter, making her a full sister to the $200,000 earning, stakes winning first crop daughter of Father Patrick, Special Honor.

Do You Wanna Dance, like Sister Sledge, is out of an Andover Hall mare and was a $50,000 Lexington Select purchase.
