Last season’s leading North American juvenile trotting money earners Amigo Volo and Sister Sledge were in fine form winning stakes races over the weekend with the Father Patrick pair both setting new lifetime marks in the process.

Amigo Volo was in a class of his own in a $95,367 division of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, coasting to a five and a half length victory in a new lifetime mark of 1:52 on the five-eighths of a mile track.

The winner of eight races to date, including the Breeders Crown Final, Amigo Volo has now earned just shy of $780,000 in stakes.

Earlier in the weekend the richest two-year-old trotting filly of 2019, Sister Sledge, was just as impressive in her Tompkins Geers division at The Meadowlands.

The Ron Burke trained daughter of Father Patrick led by the half and trotted clear in the straight to an eventual four and three-quarter length victory over last year’s Kentucky Sires Stakes Final winner Ms Savannah Belle.

Sister Sledge’s winning time of 1:51.4 was also a new lifetime best mark for the three-year-old.

Sister Sledge’s record now stands at eleven wins from sixteen starts and earnings of $668,636.
