The progeny of Father Patrick dominated the heats for the Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic Series for 2-year-old trotting fillies, winning two out of three at Maryborough on Monday afternoon.

In the second of the $10,000 heats contested, the Chris Lang trained and driven Evas Image was the consummate professional, spearing straight to the lead off the gate and then trotting flawlessly throughout to win by 2.5 metres.

It was the second consecutive win for Evas Image, whose only other start to date produced a second placing behind the well regarded colt Aldebaran Zeus.

Bred by Chris and Haley Lang, Evas Image is out of the multiple Group 1 winning daughter of Last Sunset, She’s An Image, and was the highest priced trotting filly ever to sell at auction in Australia when she sold for $70,000 at the 2019 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale.

The Paddy Lee trained Keayang Xena was just as impressive a winner as Evas Image in the final fillies heat and almost a carbon copy in style, with the odds on favourite striding to the lead early and comfortably winning by just over 4 metres at the line.

Keyang Xena is also the winner of two races to date.

Bred and raced by the Levarg Racing Group, Keayang Xena is the first foal of the 9-win Muscles Yankee mare, Keayang Yankee.
