It was a clean sweep for the progeny of Father Patrick in the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes (PASS) Finals for 3YO Trotters at Harrah’s Philadelphia on September 6 (US  time).

The Nifty Norman trained Amigo Volo proved a class above his rivals in the $252,000 Championship Final for 3YO Trotting Colts and Geldings, crossing to the lead at the quarter pole Amigo Volo and kiwi reinsman Dexter Dunn made light work of the rest of the trip, coasting to a two and three-quarter lengths victory at the line in a time of 1:52 3/5.

It was the tenth career win for last season’s Breeders Crown winner and the prizemoney won sees him become Father Patrick’s latest millionaire with lifetime earnings now of $1,041,456.

A $42,000 Lexington Select purchase, Amigo Volo is out of the multiple stakes race winning Yankee Glide mare Margarita Momma.

The regally bred Crucial caused somewhat of an upset in the $252,000 Fillies Championship Final with fellow Father Patrick filly Sister Sledge starting the short priced favourite.

The Ron Burke trained filly enjoyed a great run throughout, sitting on the leader’s back before pulling out in the straight and trotting home powerfully to score by one and a half lengths in a new lifetime best mark of 1:52 4/5.

Crucial is now the winner of seven races and $402,196 in stakes-earnings.

A $200,000 Lexington Select purchase, Crucial is the first foal of the world champion Muscle Hill filly Jolene Jolene.

For good measure a daughter of Father Patrick also took out the $50,000 3YO PASS Consolation with Sherry Lyns Lady a comfortable winner, taking her lifetime earnings to just over $350,000.

Father Patrick is currently second on the North American 3YO Trotting Sires Premiership, behind only Muscle Hill.
