The just completed yearling sale session of the Standardbred Horse Sale was a hugely successful one for the first season trotting sire Father Patrick, with his yearlings averaging an incredible $119,000 over the three days of selling.

There was fierce competition for the former US 2YO and 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year's yearlings with his highest priced lot, the filly Quadrille Hanover, selling for $300,000. Consigned by Hanover Shoe Farms, Quadrille Hanover is a half sister to the world champion and million dollar earner, Lifetime Pursuit.

The highest priced colt by Father Patrick, at $275,000, was Gangster Hanover, an impressive looking individual out of a full sister to the former US Horse of the Year Glidemaster. He was also consigned by Hanover Shoe Farms.

Two other yearlings also made $200,000 or more - lot 26, a half brother to the aforementioned Glidemaster and lot 138, a half sister to numerous stakes race winners, including the $500,000 earner Superstar Hanover.

Father Patrick was one of just two stallions, trotting or pacing, to average over $100,000, with the other being the great Muscle Hill.

Trotting lots were in demand throughout the sale with the progeny of Andover Hall selling strongly, with his top colt making $170,000 and his highest priced filly $150,000, whilst Muscle Mass also had two colts sell for $100,000 and over.
