Father Patrick's first crop of yearlings made a big impression at the Australasian Premier Trotting Sale on Sunday, with the former US 2YO and 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year siring both the highest priced filly and the highest priced colt of the sale.

The overall sales topper was a beautifully presented filly out of the multiple Group 1 winning filly Shes An Image. Consigned by Chris and Haley Lang, the filly sold for $70,000 - a new Australian record for a trotting filly.

The next highest priced yearling, and the best of the colts at $62,000, was a Father Patrick colt out of Countess Angela, making him from the maternal family of the likes of Maoris Dream, Danny Bouchea and Blitzthemcalder.

Sunday's terrific results follow a successful Christchurch New Zealand Bloodstock Standardbred Sale in which the two-time Breeders Crown winner's progeny sold up to $50,000 and averaged just under $35,000.
