The Colin Brown trained A Rocknroll Dance gelding Its Rock And Roll proved too good in the $30,000 Group 3 Im Themightyquinn Final (2,130m) at Gloucester Park on January 24, prevailing in a tight finish.
Caught wide early on, the former Group 1 winner had no choice but to press forward and take the lead, and although taken on by While They Pray for much of the trip Its Rock And Roll still had enough in reserve to hold out the swooper Jack William by a head at the line.
It was the A Rocknroll Dance four-year-old’s seventh career win and his third at Group level, and took his earnings to $195,278.
