The Roy Roots Jnr trained A Rocknroll Dance filly Miss Streisand was a smart winner of the second of the Always B Miki Alabar Breeders Crown Semi Finals for 2-year-old pacing fillies at Bendigo on Saturday evening.

Caught wide early in the 2,150m contest, Miss Streisand worked to the lead down the back straight the first time. Happy to control the race with some comfortable mid race sectionals, Chris Geary up the tempo over the last half-mile, with Miss Streisand sprinting home in 55.6 to hold out Tangoingwithsierra, who had enjoyed the trail throughout, at the line in a 1:58.4 mile rate.

Group 1 placed in New Zealand, Miss Streisand is unbeaten in her two Australian starts to date and is the winner of four races in total and $88,840 in stakes.

Bred by Breckon Farms Ltd, Miss Streisand is out of the well-related Christian Cullen mare Goodlookinggirl, making her a half sister to last season's NZ 2YO Pacing Filly of the Year, Elle Mac.
