The Ake Svanstedt trained Plunge Blue Chip was a comfortable winner of the $420,750 Goldsmith Maid Final for 2-year-old trotting fillies at the Meadowlands on November 25.

Third early in the running, Plunge Blue Chip was sent to sit in the breeze just before the three-quarter mark. Easily accounting for the second favourite Hey Blondie rounding the home turn, Plunge Blue Chip ran out a dominant winner by three and a half lengths from Dab Hanover in a new lifetime best mark of 1:53.2. It was the Muscle Mass filly's ninth win from 10 starts, taking her earnings to $404,690. She is the second richest juvenile trotting filly (and third richest 2-year-old overall) in North America this year - behind only the freakish Manchego.

Plunge Blue Chip is out of the unraced Donato Hanover mare Dunk The Donato and is from the maternal family of $4,000,000 earner Mr Muscleman.

Muscle Mass is currently the third leading sire of juvenile trotters in North America - behind only the champion sires Cantab Hall and Muscle Hill.
