Muscle Mass pair impress in Peaceful Way and Wellwood Memorial eliminations
The Muscle Mass stablemates Dicentra and Macho Martini were dominant winners of their Peaceful Way and William Wellwood Memorial eliminations for 2-year-old trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park on September 3 (Canadian time).
Dicentra led throughout in the first of the Peaceful Way eliminations for 2-year-old trotting fillies and proved far too good for her rivals winning by three and quarter lengths in a career best 1:55 4/5.
A home-bred filly Dicentra is the winner of four of her seven starts to date and $125,890 in stakes.
Out of the Promising Catch mare Dicent No, Dicentra is a full sister to the well-performed $700,000 earning Muscle Mass filly On A Sunny Day, a former Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final winner.
In the second of the William Wellwood Memorial eliminations for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings Macho Martini extended his undefeated record to seven races with a comfortable and unextended one and three-quarter length win for trainer Luke Blais.
Macho Martini seven wins from seven starts to date have netted him $255,513 in stakes.
A $35,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase, Macho Martini is out of the multiple Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final winner, Peach Martini, a $587,000 earning daughter of Striking Sahbra.
