Nevele R Stud 2026 Service Fees
Nevele R Stud is pleased to announce its stallion line-up and service fees for the 2026-27 breeding season.
In response to current economic and industry conditions, the Stud has maintained or reduced all but one of its 2026 service fees and capped on-farm fees at last season’s rates.
On the pacing sires front, we’re thrilled to welcome back one of the world’s best, Always B Miki, to Southern Hemisphere stud duties after missing last season. His return follows a remarkable 2025, in which his progeny claimed an impressive number of major Australasian feature races, including the New Zealand Trotting Cup, Victoria Cup, The Nullarbor, The Rising Sun, Fremantle Cup, NSW Derby, Queensland Derby, and Nevele R Fillies Series Final.
Captain Crunch, Pebble Beach and Vincent complete Nevele R’s pacing sire ranks.
The exciting son of Captaintreacherous, Captain Crunch, whose oldest progeny are 4-year-olds this season, continues to make his mark in both New Zealand and Australia.
In 2025, he sired his first Group 1 winner when Runkle Crunch defeated fellow Captain Crunch son Captain Stirling in the $200,000 WA Derby. He also produced three winners of the rich APG Sales Series Finals that year.
He now has nine stakes winners, including top current-season Australian 3-year-old Brooklyn Dan — the year’s second-richest male pacer to date — and leading 2026 juvenile filly Shes A Delaney.
Captain Crunch currently sits second on the New Zealand 4YO Pacing Sires Premiership and is ranked in the top five on the Australian 3YO Pacing Sires Table.
Pebble Beach, a superbly credentialed son of Downbytheseaside, is certainly kicking early goals with his first crops in both hemispheres in 2026.
In Australasia, his first-crop yearlings were in strong demand, selling for up to $115,000 and averaging six times his service fee. He has also made a flying start at stud in North America, already producing several impressive 2-year-old winners, including Banana Beach, who recorded the season’s fastest juvenile time when winning a leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes series in 1:51.8. Pebble Beach currently sits third on the US 2YO Pacing Sires table.
Vincent has enjoyed an outstanding past 12 months, siring Group 1 winners Arrhythmia — Australia’s richest and fastest 3-year-old filly this season —, Francent, the 2025 NZ 4YO Pacing Mare of the Year, and Shezsofast. With multiple other stakes winners on both sides of the Tasman, he represents excellent value this season at NZ$2,500 + GST and AU$2,750 incl GST.
The trotting stallion line-up this season consists of Creatine, Father Patrick, Marcoola and Tactical Approach.
Creatine continues to demonstrate his versatility as a sire, leaving top performers of all ages in the past 12 months, from the multiple stakes-placed juvenile Redpark Warrior through to proven open-class performers Mighty Logan and Faith In Manchester.
Father Patrick has been firmly established as one of New Zealand’s most successful trotting stallions in recent years. The champion son of Cantab Hall sired four Australasian Group 1 winners in 2025, while this season, his 4-year-old sons, Higher Power and Meant To Be, have emerged as rising stars in the NZ open-class trotting ranks with victories in the Group 1 ANZAC Cup and the Group 2 Lyell Creek Stakes, respectively.
His 3-year-old daughter, Our Col, winner of the recent Northern Trotting Oaks and NZ 2200m record holder, looks well placed to add another Australasian Age Group Champion to his record, alongside the nine he has already produced.
From limited opportunities, colonial sire Marcoola is doing a good job at stud, with the brilliant son of Sundon, producing 80% winners to starters to date, including the progressive types Kawatiri Trev, Maroubra and Rogue Hero.
Encouragingly, Marcoola’s starters have, on average, earned more than 16 times his advertised service fee to date.
The 2023 US Trotter of the Year Tactical Approach is available this season via frozen semen.
The Hambletonian winning son of Tactical Landing has attracted quality books of mares on both sides of the Tasman in the past two seasons, and his first foals were typically nice types.
Six of Nevele R’s stallions will qualify this season for the Harness 5000 Series, with Captain Crunch, Creatine, Marcoola, Father Patrick, Pebble Beach, and Vincent all meeting the criteria.
In New Zealand, multiple mare discounts, along with the early bird 20% discount for payment by the 30th of September 2026, apply for all stallions except Father Patrick.
For New Zealand breeders, HRNZ Fillies and Mares Breeding Credits and Paddock to Podium Credits can be used against all Nevele R stallion service fees and semen transport charges.
