Pebble Beach secured by Alabar and Nevele R
The reigning US and Canadian Three-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year is heading for stud duties at Alabar, Victoria.
Alabar in conjunction with Nevele R are thrilled to have secured the lifetime Southern Hemisphere Rights to the champion pacer, Pebble Beach.
The best son of the burgeoning young sire Downbytheseaside, Pebble Beach is not only a grandson of the great Somebeachsomewhere – he’s his richest grandson.
As the influence of the Somebeachsomewhere sire-line continues to grow throughout the harness racing world, in 2022, Pebble Beach was the brightest of all the star racehorses from this game-changing sire-line.
He will now stand alongside the exciting young Captaintreacherous sire, Captain Crunch who also represents this booming sire line.
With a remarkable record of 17 wins, 8 seconds and 3 thirds from 29 starts – Pebble Beach was only ever out of the first three once in his career.
A precocious two-year-old, his freshman highlights were victories in an elimination of the Breeders Crown (third in the Final) and in the $250,000 Kentucky Championship Series Final (in a season’s best 1:48.4).
Then, as a three-year-old, in the words of his trainer Noel Daley…
“When he was fully healthy he was just too good for them, just too much speed.”
His win in the $1million North America Cup stamped his superiority over his peers winning by over two lengths in 1:50 flat - untouched and with the ear plugs still in.
And he dominated them again in the $911,000 Breeders Crown Final, coasting to victory by over three lengths in a career best 1:48.1.

Pebble Beach retired to stud at Diamond Creek, Kentucky at the end of his three-year-old season with career earnings of $1,971,975 - $1,610,725 of it from his stellar sophomore campaign.
From a family steeped in millionaires, his dam was a stakes winning, 1:53.4 two-year-old by Western Ideal. She is a full-sister to Vintage Master ($2.1million) and a three-quarter sister to Great Vintage ($1.5million). All told, his grandam (by Artsplace) is the producer of the winners of over $4.6million. Not surprisingly, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.
