The 2017 Hambletonian winner Perfect Spirit maintained his unbeaten record in Sweden with an all-the-way win in the SEK2,000,000 Group 1 King Gustaf V's Cup at Aby on May 12.

The 4-year-old son of Andover Hall led throughout in the 2,140m event and never looked in danger of losing, prevailing by just over a length at the line from the fast finishing Super War Horse and fellow North American bred Enterprise (who was third to Perfect Spirit in last year's Hambletonian).

Perfect Spirit's winning time of 1.11.1 (which equates to a mile rate of 1:54.4) was a new race and track record for the distance.

The Daniel Redén trained trotter has now won all three of his Swedish starts to date and 10 in total for prize-money of just under $800,000.

A $75,000 Harrisburg purchase, Perfect Spirit is out of the $170,000 earning Kadabra mare Good Common Cents who has also left the good performers Goosebump Hanover ($256,520) and Game On Hanover ($129,268) to date.
