Perfect Sting takes out Tompkins-Geers

The reigning US 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year, Perfect Sting made light work of winning the Tompkins-Geer Stakes for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings at The Meadowlands yesterday afternoon, comfortably collaring his rivals in the straight.

A last start promoted second in the Meadowlands Pace, Perfect Sting settled mid-field before moving forward with cover at the three-quarter pole.

Opening up in the straight, the son of Always B Miki easily picked up the front markers, sprinting clear to win by two lengths in a time of 1:49 flat.

The Joe Holloway trained 3-year-old has now won 13 races and $841,577 in stakes.

Bred and raced by Brittany Farms and Val D’Or Farms, Perfect Sting is out of the fastest 3-year-old pacing filly in history, Shebestingin, a $760,000 earning daughter of Bettor’s Delight.
