Classy Muscle Mass mare Plunge Blue Chip closed out her racing career in style at the Meadowlands on Saturday, taking out the $140,000 TVG Mares Trot in her swan song appearance.

The Ake Svanstedt trained mare brushed to the lead before the half and never looked back, trotting powerfully to the line to win by one and a half lengths from Pat Matters, in a stakes record equalling time of 1:51 4/5. Watch replay.

The incredibly consistent, multiple world champion finishes her racing career with the exceptional record of 23 wins and 19 placings from 48 starts and stakes earnings of $1,596,841.

A Grand Circuit winner in every season that she raced, some of Plunge Blue Chip’s biggest victories included the Goldsmith Maid Final, Matron Stakes, Del Miller Memorial, Hudson Trot, New York Sires Stakes Final and the Miss Versatility Final twice.

Muscle Mass’s richest daughter to date, and second highest earner behind the two-time Dan Patch Award winner Six Pack, Plunge Blue Chip is out of the un-raced Donato Hanover mare Dunk The Donato.
