The first Southern Hemisphere yearlings to be offered at auction by the equal fastest pacer of all time, Always B Miki, were keenly sought after at yesterday’s Brisbane APG Yearling Sale with his top lot selling for a record Queensland price.

Three of his progeny sold for an average of $53,833 with a top price of $77,500.

Consigned by LJ Vagg and ME Vagg, the sales topper (pictured) was a terrific looking colt out of the Bettor’s Delight mare Victree Bette, making him a half-brother to the 2017 Group 1 Brisbane APG Sales Graduate Final winner Pinup Boy.

A colt out of the Life Sign mare Oh So Hippe, from the maternal family of Lennytheshark, also brought big money, selling for $60,000, whilst his sole other entry, a colt out of Rockin Riches sold for $24,000.

The results mirror Always B Miki’s outstanding debut crop Sales results in North America, with the multiple Breeders Crown champion the leading first season sire at the 2019 US Yearling Sales.

The focus now moves to this weekend’s Melbourne APG Sale where Always B Miki has 16 yearlings catalogued, including fillies out of the multiple Group 1 winner Aussie Made Lombo and the sub 1:50 mare Arms Of An Angel
