A Vincent colt sold for a staggering $215,000 at yesterday’s NZB Standardbred Christchurch Sale – a record price for a first season sire, let alone a colonial bred freshman sire!

Consigned by Spreydon Lodge the colt was purchased by Jean Feiss, the owner of Vincent during his racing career.

Out of the Washington VC mare Suzys Delight, the standout colt is a half brother to the dual Group 1 winner Locharburn and the Group 2 winner Cullenburn.

In what was a somewhat difficult day of selling, the stock of Vincent were well supported and in strong demand with buyers, with nine of the 11 yearlings offered by Vincent selling for an average of $47,333 and colts by the stallion also bringing $67,500 and $30,000.
