Son of Always B Miki named US 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year

The unbeaten Always B Miki colt, Perfect Sting was crowned the 2020 US 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year at a virtual Dan Patch Awards Show held on Facebook Live on January 16.

The Joe Hollaway trained juvenile won all 10 starts in 2020, including the Breeders Crown Final and the Kentucky Sires Stakes Final.

He earned $534,300 in stakes and took a mark of 1:49 2/5 at The Red Mile in August.

A Brittany Farms and Val D’Or Farm homebred, Perfect Sting is out of the fastest 3-year-old filly of all time, Shebestingin, a $760,000 earning daughter of Bettor’s Delight.

His sire, Always B Miki was the leading first season sire by a considerable margin in 2020 with his exceptional debut crop winning more than $2.3 million in stakes and also featuring the outstanding, top 10 money earning pacers Southwind Gendry 1:50 ($583,069) and Always A Miki 1:50 2/5 ($331,261).
