Exciting Always B Miki juvenile Southwind Gendry stormed home to take out the $120,000 The Elevation for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on September 25 (US time).

The Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Championship winner two starts ago, Southwind Gendry showed why he was the odds on favourite for the feature, with the promising gelding sitting off the pace for the majority of the race before unleashing in the last 400m to claim a quarter length victory in a career best time of 1:50 4/5.

Southwind Gendry has now won six of his eight starts and banked $299,369 in stakes.

A $30,000 Lexington Select purchase, Southwind Gendry is out of the Cam’s Card Shark mare Gamblers Passion and is from the maternal family of Sands A Flyin.

First season sire Always B Miki is enjoying a tremendous start with his first crop and is currently third on the 2YO North American Pacing Sires premiership, behind only the heavyweights Somebeachsomewhere and Captaintreacherous.
