The Jim Campbell trained Take All Comers was an impressive winner of his $105,100 Bluegrass Stakes division for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings at The Red Mile on October 2, recording one of the season’s fastest times by a freshman trotter.

The big striding son of Creatine raced third on the rail before being angled out at the three-quarter pole and let loose in the straight. Putting in a powerful run, Take All Comers trotted strongly to the line to win by three-quarters of a length from Fly Light, with a further three-quarters of a length back to the Peter Haughton Final runner-up Moonstone.

Take All Comer’s winning time of 1:52 3/5 is the third fastest time record by a 2-year-old trotter in 2020.

It was the debut win for Take All Comers, who had previously notched up a number of runner-up finishes in Pennsylvania Sires Stakes races, and boosted his earnings to $121,982.

In winning, Take All Comers emulated his sire Creatine who was victorious in his 2012 Bluegrass split.

Raced by Runthetable Stables, Take All Comers is out of their race winning Cantab Hall mare Nantab and is a half a brother to the multiple stakes winning filly Next Level Stuff, who also won her Bluegrass Stakes division over the weekend.
