After a delayed start to his season, the 2021 US Trotter of the Year Jujubee was back in stakes winning form at the Red Mile, taking out the $149,000 Allerage Farms Open Trot.

With a couple of runs under his belt and a strong last start third in the Dayton Trotting Derby, Jujubee was primed and ready to go on the track on which he won the Kentucky Futurity 12 months earlier.

Biding his time towards the back of the field through the early stages, Jujubee and driver Andrew McCarthy moved closer through the third quarter before peeling out three wide at the top of the straight and trotting powerfully to the line to score by half a length from Ambassador Hanover in 1:50.4.

It was the 4-year-old son of Creatine’s 17th lifetime win and took his earnings to $1,076,157.

He is out of the Cantab Hall mare La Cantera.

In New Zealand, it was another son of Creatine that impressed, Hot To Trot – with the two-time New Zealand record holder downing the Northern Trotting Derby winner Highgrove by two lengths at Addington Raceway.

It was the Mark Jones trained 3-year-old’s third win on the bounce and his sixth overall.

Hot To Trot is out of the unraced Sundon mare Lady Boo Kay.

Creatine is currently second on the NZ 3YO Trotting Sires Premiership – behind only Love You.

Frozen semen for Creatine is available in both New Zealand and Australia this season at a fee of NZ$3,000 + GST and AU$3,300 incl. GST.
