Father Patrick 4-year-old Mufasa Metro was superb in his first start against the free-for-all trotters, leading from start to finish in a dominant performance to take out the Group 3 DNL Logistics Vulcan Trotters Free For All at Tabcorp Park, Melton on Saturday evening.

The John Justice trained former kiwi was in control from the start, leading from the pole, cruising through the middle sectionals before kicking clear of a quality field that contained five Group 1 winners, to score by 5.6m in a slick 1:56 mile rate.

It was the 2021 Harness Jewels 3YO Diamond runner-up’s second Australian Group Race victory, having previously won the Group 2 VHRC Caduceus Holmfield as well as placing in the Group 1 Victoria Trotters Derby.

It was the exciting young square-gaiters seventh lifetime win and took his earnings past the $100,000 mark.

Justice has huge wraps on the well bred son of Father Patrick with long term targets including the Inter Dominion Trotters Series and the Great Southern Star.

Out of the Group 1 winning Safely Kept mare, Paris Metro, Mufasa Metro is also a half to the Group 1 winner Massive Metro.
