Southwind Gendry the fastest 3YO in 2021

Southwind Gendry, by Always B Miki, produced the fastest time by a 3-year-old pacer in North America this year when winning his division of the “Bye Bye Byrd” Pennsylvania Sires Stakes at The Meadows in 1:49 4/5ths.

In his season opener, Southwind Gendry was caught wide early before pressing on to the lead at the quarter pole and from there on in never looked in any danger, first fending off the challenge of Summa Cum Laude and then Chase H Hanover, to score by three quarters of a length in a new lifetime best mark.

A winner of over $580,000 as a 2yo last season, Southwind Gendry has now won 11 of his 14 starts and $621,633 in stakes.

Purchased for $30,000 at the 2019 Lexington Select Yearling Sale, Southwind Gendry is out of the stakes winning Cam’s Card Shark mare Gamblers Passion.
