A Rocknroll Dance’s terrific Australian season continued over the last week, with the stallion siring two 2-year-old stakes race winners in the space of five days.

On Wednesday, the Steve Turnbull trained Pas De Cheval was a powerful winner of the Group 3 NSW Breeders Challenge Western Regional 2YO Pacing Fillies Final at Bathurst.

Parked for the last lap, the A Rocknroll Dance filly kicked clear of her rivals approaching the home turn to score an emphatic one and a half length win over the Always B Miki filly Not To Be Denied.

It was her second stakes win of the season, with Pas De Cheval now having won five races and just over $55,000 in stakes.

She is out of the three-win Art Major mare Then We Dance, a full sister to the juvenile Group 1 winner Our Femme Fatale.

On the final night of the Inter Dominion heats, the Paul Fitzpatrick trained Rocknpenny then hung on gamely to take out the Group 3 NSW Breeders Challenge Eastern Regional Final for 2YO Colts and Geldings.

Having led for the majority of the 1,609m race, Rocknpenny had to dig deep in the last few strides to stave off the challenge of My Ultimate Cobber, with the son of A Rocknroll Dance fighting  back to score by a narrow margin in a career best 1:54.6.

It was his fourth win and took the Group 1 place-getter’s earnings to $61,950.

Rocknpenny is out of the race winning Christian Cullen mare Perfect Penny, a daughter of the Group 1 Oaks winner, Threepence.
