Second stakes win for son of Rocknroll Dance

Jay Ok continued the terrific stakes form of late by the Australian progeny of A Rocknroll Dance when taking out the $50,000 Group 2 Australian Pacing Gold 4YO Consolation at Menangle on Saturday.

On the marker pegs for much of the mile trip the Paul Fitzpatrick trained race favourite angled clear in straight and quickly reeled in the well fancied pair Crunch Time and Ilikemebettor to win by a length in a career best time of 1:50.7.

A winner at Listed level last season, Jay Ok has now won or placed in 21 of his 24 starts and banked just  under $92,000 in earnings.

The gelding is out of the one-win Sportswriter mare Naevia and was purchased for a modest $15,000 at the 2018 Sydney Australian Pacing Gold Yearling Sale.
