Star Always B Miki colt remains unbeaten

Newsroom, by Always B Miki, improved his unbeaten record to six wins from six starts when he won the $110,000 The Elevation for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings at Harrahʻs Hoosier Park on Friday.

Racing in the trail early, Newsroom swept to the lead at the quarter pole and raced clear with a comfortable margin through the next two quarters but found himself under siege in the home straight and was briefly headed.

But digging deep the undefeated colt fought back to win by a quarter of a length at the line in a time of 1:51.8.

Purchased for $30,000 at the 2022 Harrisburg Yearling Sale, Newsroom has now won $170,775 in stakes.

Newsroomʻs Hall of Fame trainer Joe Holloway thinks very highly of him, with Holloway declaring in the lead up to the race “I think he has a chance to be very special. Perhaps become the best horse Iʻve trained.”
