The inaugural New Zealand Bloodstock Sale of Trotters was a highly successful one for Nevele R's trotting stallions with five of the top ten lots by the Stud's sires and some very pleasing averages for both the first season sire Father Patrick and leading North America stallion Muscle Mass.

The debut crop of the two-time US Trotting Colt of the Year Father Patrick (pictured) was very warmly received by buyers, with a striking colt out of the former NZ Record Holder Hot Pants making $50,000, whilst a colt out of the  2010 Harness Jewels 2YO Ruby winner Kylie Ree fetched $45,000.

With an average price of $34,917 for six lots sold, Father Patrick was the second leading sire overall by average, behind only the established champion stallion Love You.

After a four year absence from the sales ring, the progeny of Muscle Mass were highly sought after, with Jim Connelly's KPC Racing going to $80,000 for a colt out of Nice One Kenny and $50,000 for a colt out of the Love You mare U Dream.

Averaging $28,389 for nine lots sold, Muscle Mass was the third leading sire by average price.

With just two lots entered, Andover Hall also featured as a sire of one of the top ten highest priced yearlings, with a lovely type out of a half-sister to Stig selling for $42,000 late in the day.
