The Auckland session of the NZB National Yearling Sale on February 14 saw some outstanding results for Nevele R’s stallions.

A Rocknroll Dance (pictured) was the second leading sire by average price, behind only Bettor’s Delight, with an incredible average of $50,333 and a top lot of $90,000.

That top lot was a strong looking colt out of the multiple Group 1 winner Twist N Twirl, making the colt a three-quarter brother to the $1.6 million earner and six-time Group 1 winner, King Of Swing.

Another colt by A Rocknroll Dance from the same maternal family also brought good money, selling for $40,000.

Both colts were consigned by Breckon Farms.

Yearlings from the second crop of Always B Miki were also in demand on Sunday afternoon, with the stallion averaging $41,125 and a top lot of $80,000.

Also offered by Breckon Farms, Always B Miki’s top lot was an outstanding colt out of the Group 1 winning Christian Cullen mare Veste, making him a half brother to the 2020 NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final winner It’s All About Faith.

There were plenty of other pleasing results for Always B Miki too, with a trio of colts consigned by Alabar NZ selling strongly at $55,000 for a colt out of Yankee Dream, $54,000 for a colt out of Lady Dancer and $46,000 for a colt out of Cougar Bromac.

The only other Nevele R stallion with more than three yearlings offered, Father Patrick, finished the sale as the second leading trotting sire by average and had a top lot of $60,000.

Consigned by John Dickie, the top selling Father Patrick yearling was a colt out of the well-related, Group 3 Northern Trotting Stakes winner Great Getaway, making the colt a half-brother to the multiple Group 1 place-getter Tricky Ric
